Quiet Tab is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe you shouldn't have to trade your privacy for a simple productivity tool.

What We Collect

Quiet Tab does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. Period.

How the Extension Works

Quiet Tab is a simple content script that:

• Runs only on Gmail pages (mail.google.com)
• Reads the browser tab title
• Removes the unread count number (e.g., "(4)") from the title
• Updates the tab title locally in your browser

All processing happens locally in your browser. No data leaves your computer.

What We Don't Do

• We don't read your emails
• We don't access your Gmail account
• We don't require any login or account
• We don't use analytics or tracking
• We don't collect usage data
• We don't use cookies
• We don't share data with third parties (because we don't have any data)

Permissions

Quiet Tab requires zero special permissions. It only uses the standard content script capability to run JavaScript on Gmail pages, which is the minimum needed to modify the tab title.

Our code is open source. You can inspect it yourself to verify these claims.
